The MongoDB SQL Interface Connector enables you to access and analyze live application data stored in MongoDB. Easily connect Tableau to MongoDB and begin querying using SQL without the need for complicated schema definition. Leverage Tableau’s native functionality for advanced querying, self-service data modeling, and sophisticated analysis across multiple data sources, all without disrupting in-production application workloads.
Installation
- Download the Connector file for MongoDB SQL Interface (.taco)
- Move the .taco file here:
- Tableau Desktop (Windows): C:\Users\[Windows User]\Documents\My Tableau Repository\Connectors
- Tableau Desktop (macOS): Users/[user]/Documents/My Tableau Repository/Connectors
- Tableau Prep Builder (Windows): C:\Users[Windows User]\Documents\My Tableau Prep Repository\Connectors
- Tableau Prep Builder (macOS): /Users/[user]/Documents/My Tableau Prep Repository/Connectors
- Start Tableau and under Connect, select the “MongoDB SQL Interface by MongoDB” connector. (Note: You will be prompted if the driver is not yet installed.)

Go to the Driver Download page
Download the MongoDB SQL Interface JDBC Driver
all.jar
fileMove into the following directory:
- Windows: C:\Program Files\Tableau\Drivers
- macOS:/Users/[user]/Library/Tableau/Drivers
- Relaunch Tableau and connect using the “MongoDB SQL Interface by MongoDB” connector
